Excellent relationships with the principals at BAFTA & AMPAS both in London and in the United States, which allow us to ensure the respective memberships are very well looked after internationally and on an individual basis, with knowledge of the broader aspirations of the respective organisations.
DDA Awards contributed to this year’s Academy Awards Best Picture winner MOONLIGHT (Adele Romanski, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner), which also took home the Oscar for Best Writing Adapted Screenplay (Barry Jenkins, Tarell Alvin McCraney) and Best Supporting Actor (Mahershala Ali). In addition, DDA Awards campaigns OJ: MADE IN AMERICA (Ezra Edelman, Caroline Waterlow) won Best Documentary Feature and THE WHITE HELMETS (Orlando von Einsiedel, Joanna Natasegara) won Best Documentary Short Subject.
The awards team had the pleasure of working on this season’s other Oscar nominated films LION, 20TH CENTURY WOMEN and LIFE, ANIMATED.
DDA Awards campaigns also saw success at the BAFTA’s with multiple nominations and one win for the British break-out film UNDER THE SHADOW (Babal Anvari, Lucan Toh, Oliver Roskill, Emily Leo) and multiple nominations for MOONLIGHT, including Best Film.
UNDER THE SHADOW and MOONLIGHT were winners at the 2016 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) as well, with Naomie Harris also being honoured with the annual Variety Award.
